Weather Alert – Full Wolf Moon 5K Update

Due to the projected extreme wind chills and dangerously low temperatures, the Run Nebraska Team has made the difficult but necessary decision to convert the in-person Full Wolf Moon 5K (scheduled for January 24, 2026, at Two Rivers State Park) to a virtual event for the safety of all participants.
We appreciate your understanding as we prioritize everyone's health in these conditions.

Key highlights:
- You can complete your virtual 5K run or walk anytime starting now.
- All participants must finish and submit their time by 11:59 PM CST on January 28, 2026
- After the submission deadline, no further times will be added to the official results.
- Medals and any merch will be avaivable for pickup at the Valentines Day 5k on February 14th at Two Rivers State Park. If you need to make other arrangements please email us at info@run-ne.com
Use the ITS YOUR RACE app (recommended for automatic GPS tracking and submission) or manually enter your time on the website. Results and finisher certificates will be available on the event results page once submitted.

The Full Wolf Moon 5K is the 2nd race in 2026 Winter Fitness Series. The race takes place on a very flat 1.5 mile closed loop course at scenic Two Rivers State Park in Waterloo, NE. Just minutes west of Omaha. USATF Certified. Official times. Presented by Run Nebraska and 402 XC & Track. Great for first timers and those looking to stick to New Years Resolutions!

Event details and schedule
The Winter Fitness Series supports healty lifestyle for youth and adults. All races begin at 10:00 am sharp. Packet pickup and race day registration opens at 8:30 at the park office. Proceeds from the event benefit all go to support the USATF Nebraska Association Long Distance Running (LDR) Program.
The weather forecast should dictate your outfitting for race day. Please bring your mittens and warm dry clothes if you choose to change post run.
You will be directed to park next to the cabooses just inside the park. You will need to purchase a 2025 Nebraska Game and Parks permit for your car. NGPC - Login (
